On the evening of Tuesday, 24th January the Sports Complex hosted a friendly football match between the VEDC and STS MBZ. Both teams played extremely well and demonstrated really good sportsmanship and talent throughout the game, which was really good to see by all. After a very close game the VEDC managed to grasp a win due to Sultan Hassan Khalaf scoring a great header in the 18th minute of the first half.
The atmosphere was made very special by the amount of support the match received by both staff and students, so we would like to thank all that were able to attend and support the players.



This weekend the VEDC Sports Complex conducted three stands at the ACTVET Health and Fitness Fun exhibition at the ADNEC. The three activities included Basketball, Table Tennis, and an indoor Obstacle course. The stands represented and promote some of the activities that the students participate in during their time at the VEDC. The stands were very successful and created an enjoyable atmosphere for people as well as promoting a healthier lifestyle, which is a very important message that the VEDC delivers to its students.







The Sports Complex held the final Volleyball match between Foundation School and Vocational School. Both teams showed great competitiveness, focus, determination, and overall great sportsmanship, which created a special atmosphere. At the end of the match the Foundation Team was able to win with two clear points, and to announce themselves as VEDC Volleyball champions for 2016.
Congratulations to Foundation School and best of luck to Vocational School for next time and future competitions.



Caracal International Co. And Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) have signed today an Agreement under which the Company employs (40) nationals of the Vocational Education Development Center (VEDC) graduates at its production lines at Tawazun Industrial Complex, Al Ajban, Abu Dhabi.
The Agreement was signed at Tawazun stand in IDEX 2015 events on behalf of Caracal Mr. Hamad Al Ameri, CEO and was signed on behalf of ADVETI by Dr. Addel Omer Al Ameri, Managing Director.
Signing was witnessed by Dr. Jasem Al Ali, Tawazun Holding Consultant, Shaikha Al Marzouqi, HR Director, Caracal International Co, Ghanem Ojaif Al Zaabi, Principle – Vocational Education Development Center (VEDC).
Caracal CEO said that this Agreement stipulates that Caracal will merge the new employees in the production and fabrication lines at the Company noting that signing the Agreement is of great significance in qualifying and training nationals as they are considered a strategic objective in the wise leadership’s vision to achieve the goals of the Emiratization policy.
He indicated that the Company is making intensive efforts at all levels to support the Emiratization march through qualifying nationals and developing their capabilities and skills.
Mr. Hamad Ameri said that the Agreement of appointing the new batch of ADVETI graduate employees stipulates that Caracal has to merge the new employees in the production and fabrication lines at the Company. He added that it is decided to employ (40) nationals of ADVETI graduates every year in the production lines to ensure the availability of more opportunities to UAE sons.
He said, too, that signing this Agreement with ADVETI is of great significance in qualifying and training nationals as they are considered a strategic objective in the wise leadership’s vision to achieve the goals of the Emiratization policy stressing that the Company is making intensive efforts at all levels to support the Emiratization march through qualifying nationals and developing their capabilities and skills.
Caracal International Co. Intends to start the production of 80,000 “CAR 816” combat rifles as part of a deal of. 763 million dirham signed between the Company and UAE Armed Forces at IDEX.
From his side, Dr. Addel Omer Al Ameri confirmed that ADVETI is ready to provide the specialized technical vocational education and training services to meet the needs of Caracal Co., specialized in light arms production.
He added, “We are at ADVETI prepare special programs of vocational education and training in cooperation with Caracal and Associates in Germany and with a number of other countries to meet the needs and requirements of UAE strategic industry sector.


Under the patronage and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, activities of the Support Units shooting Festival 2016, organized by the Support Units of the U.A.E Armed Forces began its fourth session in “Sabkhat Alhafar” area under the logo “teach your children swimming, archery and horse riding.”
A number of the Vocational Education Development Centre (VEDC) students participated in organizing the Festival activities that comprising several sections out of which the shooting competition is considered as the main part. The Festival is also accompanied by a gallery that allows the public to identify the military units which form the UAE Armed Forces and the national military manufacturers companies that are the pride of UAE and the people of UAE.
Students participated in the Festival praised the positive aspects achieved during the Festival and how unique the experience gained from participating in the festival which consequently works on developing individual and collective shooting skills of UAE citizens and in strengthening competitiveness and instill patriotism and loyalty to our wise government and to promote coherence between the UAE Armed Forces and the community members.








On Tuesday evening on the VEDC hosted a friendly football match between The Vocational Education Development Centre (VEDC) and the Real Madrid Football Academy, which ended with a final score of two goals to nil (2 - 1).
The Real Madrid Football Academy scored in the first half taking the lead and managed to hold this until the half time; however, the VEDC team came back to score early in the second half. Even through of a series of attacks by the Real Madrid players, the VEDC team was able to score another goal, the winning goal, by taking advantage of a technical error from one of the Real Madrid defenders.
The VEDC team were praised for their quality football in the second half and the friendly atmosphere that the Real Madrid were brought into. The VEDC performed at an exceptional standard and created a pathway to success for the future of the team and the players.



The VEDC Rugby team from Abu Dhabi participated in the HSBC National School Championships on the past weekend achieving second place overall after winning the first match against Sharjah/Ajman with a score of 15 – 0, and winning the second match against Dubai mixed Schools team 7 – 0. Unfortunately the team lost their final match, which was very close one, against Rashid School for boys with a final score of 10 – 5.





Total ABK–VEDC Academy celebrated its 6th Graduation Ceremony on 13th January 2015, held under the patronage of Mr. Mohamed Butti Al Qubaisi, Director E&P, and ADNOC.
19 graduates were presented with their certificates following successful completion of their study program. The ceremony was attended by Total ABK’s stakeholders and partners (ADNOC, ADMA-OPCO, INPEX, ADOC, BUNDUQ and ADVETI-VEDC), as well as the top management and employees of Total ABK and Total UAE, together with the friends and families of the graduates.
Total ABK-VEDC Academy is proud to say that all those graduates have already been allocated to major oil & gas companies.





Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical & Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education concluded Camp activities (Al Bait Mutwahid) for the third consecutive year which was held during 19 – 31 December 2015 in the Western Region. Almost 2000 Female & Male students from both UAE Educational institutes and schools have participated in this year’s camps festivities.
The Vocational Education Development Centre has had the privilege of being one of the leading participants in the camp.
The Heritage 4 Life festival, as divided into three volunteering sections consisting of:
- VEDC students providing assistance at the annual Al Dafrah Camel festival. Such areas that were covered were:
- Camel Beauty competition- The main event of the festival and largest attraction of visitors to where students supervised the camels to ensure they stayed within their allocated areas during the competition.
- Seating area, Camel Beauty competition- Students provided assistance to both visitors and Security services in the seating area of the stadium, implementing the following skills crowd and conflict management.
- Heritage Souq- Where students provided assistance within the souq to Staff members promoting VEDC and other public services to visitors.
- Falconry Contest- Students provided crowd control methods and assistance to members of the public that visited the contest.
- Within the Boys camp, MOE Male volunteering students assisted with the meeting of greetings of new arrivals and facilitation during the duration of each batches stay at the Heritage 4 Life festival.
- In the Girls camp, there were Female volunteering students also assisted with all visiting batches to ensure their stay ran smoothly and comfortably, whilst facilitating the daily requirements of running the camp.
The camp was visited by H.E. Hussein Ibrahim Al-Hammadi, Minister of Education, who stressed that there is a clear complementarity between the objectives of the Ministry of Education and ACTVET for a common goal aiming to build generations of skilled students and graduates who are able to achieve new development leaps and the continuity in the evolution process through taking the initiative and prepare to fight challenges to achieve the country’s goals and targets for 2021 and Abu Dhabi vision 2030.
He also stressed that investing in youth and education policy is pursued by the UAE wise Leadership and to give education much attention is the real breakthrough towards a radical change in the whole of UAE. Al-Hammadi also highlighted that the Ministry is engaged in a comprehensive educational plan which conjures advancement in education based on innovation to supplement the country with elements and competencies of young youth who are equipped with scientific skills and knowledge and able to cope with the current Technical and Technological revolution era.
The camp was under the supervision and directives of H.E. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical & Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET). H.E. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi said that the camp includes a selection of events of life cycles and heritage events that promotes the students skills to enable them to promote and develop those important heritage works which guarantee through it in providing real opportunities to enhance the skills of students in all areas of life to the realities experienced by ancestors and the difficulties encountered by them. Also this will enable the students to recognize the progress of civilization which is created by our wise Leadership in the community life for UAE citizens to achieve this upscale luxury level which puts the UAE society among the States and Communities of the world most stable and happy society. This requires everyone to work continuously to keep this level of luxury and hence maintain this great deed for the nation and our wise Leadership.
It worth mentioning that the directives of H.E. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi have been implemented through a team of students and staff of VEDC.
At the end of the Festival, the VEDC Principal Mr. Ghanim Ajaif has thanked all people who have contributed to the success of the Festival.


















The VEDC rugby team participated in the Emirates Rugby 7’s in Dubai yesterday, 5th December 2015 and successfully won the plate final. The International tournament was sponsored by Emirates Airlines, DHL, HSBC, Crown Plaza Hotels, MMi, and Airbus with a crowd of 40,000+ at the main event.
We would like to congratulate them on their win, congratulate them on their fearless effort; send congratulations on their achievements and wish them many more congratulations for their future in the sport. All their hard work and dedication has paid off with their win.
The team played in three matches winning the plate final and individually receiving a glass plate trophy. The first game was very close with Rashid School for boys scoring in the last minute to win the game and the second game was won by the VEDC as STS Al Ain forfeited the match. The VEDC then entered the Plate Final game against Sharjah and dominated the match from the start winning with a score of 22 – 0.





شارك طلبة مركز التعليم والتطوير المهني بفعاليات الاحتفال الرسمي باليوم الوطني الرابع والأربعين الذي أقيم في مدينة زايد الرياضية في العاصمة أبوظبي تحت رعاية صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان، رئيس الدولة "حفظه الله"، وتضمن الاحتفال الذي يحمل عنوان "دام عزك يا وطن" من ثلاث فقرات رئيسية هي "نشأة وطن" و "إماراتي وأفتخر" و "عز الوطن".
وجاء المشهد الأول من الفقرة الأولى بعنوان "الله عطانا"، حيث صور هذا المشهد بدايات تأسيس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة حينما قام مؤسس الدولة المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان وإخوانه حكام الإمارات آنذاك بجمع القبائل وتوحيد الشعب وتأسيس الدولة.
واحتفى المشهد بأصالة الإمارات والجذور المشتركة والعادات الأصيلة عبر العصور كما رصد المشهد تفاصيل الحياة البرية والبحرية والجبلية وطبيعة المهن التي مارسها سكان المنطقة قديما.
وجسد المشهد رمزية الوحدة، حيث يجمع الشيخ زايد طيب الله ثراه الإمارات السبع فتقوم كل إمارة بالمشاركة الفعلية من خلال وضع نصيبها من المياه رمز الحياة في مكان واحد لتروي شجرة الاتحاد والتي تجسدها شجرة الغاف الكبيرة بجذورها العميقة ويجمع المغفور له الشيخ زايد الشمل ويوحد الأرض والكلمة ويقابله الشعب بتلبية النداء ويتضامن مع هذه الجهود ويتكاتف أبناء المنطقة لبناء جديد وأمل مشرق لتبدأ مسيرة دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة نحو المستقبل، وفي هذه اللحظة يعزف السلام الوطني في المشهد الثاني الذي حمل عنوان "عيشي بلادي" فيه اتحدت أعلام الإمارات في علم واحد جسد الوحدة والعزة والخير والازدهار لكل الشعب، ثم أنشد الجميع النشيد الوطني الذي تعبر كلماته عن روح الاتحاد وحب الوطن والإخلاص له.
أما المشهد الثالث "لآلئ الحكمة" فقد صور هذا المشهد حكمة المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان طيب الله ثراه وإخوانه المؤسسين حكام الإمارات، حيث ظهرت مقولاته كلآلئ لامعة أضاءت سماء المكان بالنور والمعرفة مخلدة نهجه وإرثه العظيم، حيث تضمن هذا المشهد فقرات الحفل - فيلما وثائقيا - يسرد قصة الاتحاد منذ التأسيس والجهود التي بذلها الآباء والأجداد المؤسسون لتمكين الدولة من التطور والتقدم في مناحي الحياة كافة مع المحافظة على التقاليد والعادات العربية الأصيلة، ثم عرضت لوحة تعكس فرحة أبناء الإمارات بيوم وطنهم المجيد واعتزازهم وفخرهم بما وصلت اليه دولتهم من عز ومجد.
وجاءت الفقرة الثانية "إماراتي وأفتخر" في أربعة مشاهد، حيث صور المشهد الأول "يا شباب الوطن" فتاة في وسط عاصفة رملية تمثل التحديات التي تواجه المنطقة ثم تنهض الفتاة بسواعد أبناء الإمارات وجهودهم فتمنح بكرمها من الخير الذي حباها به الله أبنائها وجيرانها وأشقائها وتشارك أوراق الغاف المضيئة التي أثمرتها شجرة الاتحاد مع جيرانها والعالم.
وجسد المشهد الثاني "الصقور المخلصين"، شارك فيه أفراد من القوات المسلحة بجميع فروعها البرية والبحرية والجوية والأجهزة الأمنية بكافة تشكيلاتها وأفراد الخدمة الوطنية، حيث استقبلت ساحة الاحتفال 1200 فرد منهم دخلوا في مسيرة حماسية عكست روح الاتحاد والقوة والانتماء.
وفي المشهد الثالث "الولاء" أدى أفراد القوات المسلحة والشرطة والخدمة الوطنية قسم الولاء أمام المنصة الرئيسية التزاما منهم بقيم الولاء للدولة وقيادتها واحتراما لدستورها وقوانينها، ثم احتشدت الصفوف بدخول مجموعة من المدنيين لأداء لوحة "العازي".
وجسد المشهد الرابع "يا وطن" معاني التضحية والفداء من خلال قصيدة الشهيد هادف بن حميد بن رحمة الشامسي التي كتبها قبل استشهاده فداء للوطن، ثم ألقيت قصيدة معبرة جسدت مشاعر الفخر والاعتزاز لأمهات الشهداء، حيث حلقت الصقور في سماء الاحتفال لتجسد شهداء الوطن الذين يتحولون إلى نور ساطع يضيء سماء البلاد.
وأعقب ذلك لحظة صمت تخليدا لذكرى الشهداء الذين ضحوا بحياتهم لخدمة الوطن.
وجاءت الفقرة الثالثة "عز الوطن" ضمن مشهدين المشهد الأول تم استعراض أهم المعالم المعمارية في كل إمارة من الإمارات السبع ليبرز جمال الإمارات وما تتمتع به من أمن ورخاء وما تتطلع إليه من مستقبل مشرق، أما المشهد الثاني "البيت متوحد" فقد جسد الملحمة الوطنية والترابط بين القيادة وأبناء الوطن وتنمية الاعتزاز بالتاريخ والتقاليد الأصيلة وبنهج زايد، وتمثل المشهد بشكل رئيس بأداء "العيالة" التي تعبر عن مشاعر الفرح وحب الوطن والتضحية في سبيله.
وشارك عدد من الشيوخ في آداء لوحة العيالة تعبيرا عن البهجة والسرور في هذا اليوم الوطني المجيد.
وعكس الحفل الذي تضمن مجموعة من قصائد المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان طيب الله ثراه فرحة شعب الإمارات وتفاعله بكل فخر واعتزاز بالذكرى الوطنية المجيدة لليوم الوطني لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وبمنجزاتها الحضارية والتنموية التي تحققت في ظل قيادة حكيمة قادت سفينة الاتحاد إلى العزة والتقدم والازدهار.

of Innovation›, ACTVET launches TVET Innovation Conference to foster Innovation in Applied Learning with a focus on showcasing innovations in teaching, learning, administration and student services from the perspective of administrators, teachers, and students. The event will bring together thought leaders, experts, academics and specialists to share their diverse views and innovative approaches on the future of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the UAE.
Innovation is more than a soft skill, it is a way of thinking, a concept much like total quality management that is always present no matter what the task or circumstance. As such an innovative perspective not only impacts the development and improvement of technology but also teaching and learning, human resource management, enrolment management, indeed everything within an educational organization can and should be re-imagined and improved.

How to Apply:
There are 3 intakes of new students to VEDC every academic year, which occur at the start of each trimester in September, January and April. New entrants will follow an induction programme for 2 weeks that will enable them to become familiar with the nature of study at VEDC. Following this a streaming process will take place to ensure that students are placed in appropriate teaching groups in the Foundation School.
